At conferences and individual destinations, we at the DSC and our associates and partners can help lead in-person workshops in destination stewardship, especially the early stages, when people first need to become acquainted with the concepts.

These workshops can serve as the first step in convening a destination stewardship council and development of of a complete sustainable tourism plan. One caveat: Experience has shown  that workshops alone do not guarantee success. Success depends on dedicated local leadership, whether from government, the private sector, nonprofit organizations, or the community itself.
